Park County Libraries are constantly evolving and changing with the needs of their patrons. That is why they are extending hours and adding more checkouts to patrons’ cards.

New Hours

As of September 19, 2022, Powell and Cody Libraries will be extending their open hours!

This gives patrons more time to stop by and enjoy all of the resources libraries have to offer.

How do you gain access to these resources?

The first stop is a free library card. A library card gives you access to free books, movies, magazines, online resources & databases, ebooks, audiobooks, music, games, and so much more. To get signed up for a card, bring a photo I.D. and proof of a Park County address to the library.  

New Borrowing Limits

Along with extending hours, Park County Libraries have expanded the number of checkouts each patron can have at any given time. These are the new borrowing limits at all three Park County Library branches:

BOOKS, MOVIES, MUSIC CDS, AUDIOBOOKS ON CD OR PLAYAWAY & MAGAZINES

50 at a time, any combination!

2 weeks plus automatic renewals

VIDEO GAMES, GAME CONSOLES & ROKUS

2 games at a time for 1 week, no renewals

1 device at a time for 1 week, no renewals

HEALTH, NATURE & STEM KITS

1 kit at a time for 2 weeks, no renewals

TEACHER CARDS

30 books at a time for 6 weeks, no renewals

LIMITED BORROWING FOR $15 TEMPORARY CARDS

5 items total

2 weeks plus renewals

Attention Patrons: The Powell Library will be closed April 23-May 5, 2024 while we move into our temporary location in the Homesteader Building at the Park County Fairgrounds. All Park County Library System patrons can continue to place holds/request items, but please understand your hold may be delayed due to the closure. We look forward to seeing you at the fairgrounds in May.
