Park County Libraries are excited to host the 2nd Annual Spring Forward Expo at the Cody Library on Saturday, March 8, starting at 10:00 a.m. This free, family-friendly event celebrates gardening, sustainability, and community with a day full of activities, hands-on learning, and opportunities to grow—literally!
Attendees can pick up free locally sourced vegetable and flower seeds, participate in a seed swap, and gain valuable gardening tips from experts. Families can settle in for animated movies about conservation showing from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring Bee Movie and The Lorax. Everyone is also welcome to enter a raffle for fun gardening-themed prizes.
There will also be craft activities throughout the day, with all supplies provided:
- 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Teens can take part in a self-serve planting craft, where they can start their own seedlings.
- 2:00 p.m.: Adults and older kids can join a biodegradable bird feeder workshop, learning how to create eco-friendly feeders using simple household materials.
The Park County Seed Libraries are also seeking seed donations to help expand their collection. Community members are encouraged to contribute garden vegetable and native or ornamental flower seeds labeled with the Common Name, Scientific Name, and Collection Year. Donations can be dropped off at any Park County Library branch.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, a budding green thumb, or just looking for a fun way to get ready for the growing season, the Spring Forward Expo is the perfect place to learn, connect, and grow!
