Wyoming Library Snapshot Day: Capturing the Impact of Our Libraries

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, Wyoming’s libraries, including our very own Park County Libraries in Cody, Powell, and Meeteetse, will come together for a special day—Wyoming Library Snapshot Day. This event is more than just a day of documentation; it’s a chance to shed light on the invaluable contributions libraries make to our communities every single day.

What is Snapshot Day?

Snapshot Day is an initiative where libraries across the state of Wyoming come together to collect stories and photos that vividly illustrate the profound impact of libraries on the lives of Wyoming residents. It’s a day to capture the essence of how libraries touch people’s lives in diverse ways, from supporting education and research to providing a quiet space for contemplation and leisure reading.

Why Participate on Snapshot Day?

Participation in Snapshot Day goes beyond documenting library activities; it’s about empowerment. By participating, we not only celebrate the crucial role libraries play in our communities but also equip ourselves with valuable tools for advocacy. These snapshots serve as concrete evidence of the immeasurable value that libraries bring to our state.

How Can You Participate?

We invite you to be a part of this remarkable day! To participate in Wyoming Library Snapshot Day at Park County Libraries, simply visit any of our library branches in Cody, Powell, or Meeteetse on October 24, 2023. Let one of our friendly staff members know that you’re willing to take a picture, record a video, or leave a comment about why you love the library.

Your personal stories and experiences are what make our libraries come to life. Share the moments, both big and small, that have made a difference in your life through your library visits. Your voice matters, and together, we can illustrate the profound impact that libraries have on Wyoming residents every single day.
