Amy Couture’s Journey Across the English Channel

The Cody Library will host local swimmer Amy Couture on Saturday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. in Grizzly Hall. Couture will speak and answer questions about her recent swim across the English Channel.

Couture swam 21 miles across the English Channel from England to France this past August 2023. She became the 171^st American female to swim the channel since Gertrude Ederle became the first in 1926. All of her training was done right here in Park County, in our local waterways and at the Paul Stock Aquatic Center. She will speak about training and the day of her swim, including her dramatic finish on a moonlit beach in France.
