Well, hopefully, we are coming out on the other side of all of this chaos that has ensued these last couple of months. We are excited to kick off our summer reading program next week. We have a program for children (birth through 18) and adults. We will be holding summer reading from June 1 to July 16, 2020. You may sign up using the ReaderZone app and website. Sign up is very self explanatory on the app/website. You may also come into the library and ask for a paper tracking sheet if you need one. (There will be a paper tracking sheet in each packet given out for students.) Let us know if you need any help at all signing up and with your tracking!

Note: Normally, we ask that the books read and tracked are from the library. Due to current circumstances, we are allowing you to count any reading time that you spend – whether your reading material is from the library or not! Don’t forget our electronic resources available.
Students may earn prizes the following ways:
- You will earn a ticket for every 20 minutes you read. Record your time on Reader Zone or on your paper tracker. Turn in your minutes on Thursday each week to be entered in that week’s drawing.
- You may pick-up “Take & Make” activities each week. One activity will equal one ticket – just send us a picture of your completed activity!
- Lastly, we will have bingo sheets available. They can be picked up at the library. Complete a bingo and earn a ticket. Complete a blackout and earn two tickets!
Tickets will be entered into drawings each week for a prize. Turn in your time by Thursday to be entered for that week’s drawing. The drawings will occur on Fridays at noon. There will be prizes posted for each week and winners will be contacted to come and pick up their prizes.
You may win one weekly prize if your ticket gets picked. You may also use any MORE tickets that you earn for the drawing at the very end of the summer reading program this season.
Also, each time you come in to the library to pick out more books, you will “Spin It to Win It” for a prize! Limit of one per person per day.
We have a list of fun activities for adults for the adult program that you are welcome to pick up from the library or we can email it to you. Writing prompts, guided meditation, a craft or two…
For our teens, we will have make and take activities, as well. They will be slightly different from the children’s ones and I believe they will be enjoyable!
Lastly, for our youngest readers, the babies and preschoolers – we have a list of activities for them, as well! As your little one completes an activity, just mark it off. For each activity completed, they will earn a ticket.
I sincerely hope that you enjoy this year’s summer reading program. It is modified due to current circumstances but it will be enjoyable to see all of Meeteetse reading!
Hello Meeteetse Parents and families! We need your help! Please help your child keep track of their library books that may still be checked out. We have updated due dates and we are not charging fines for books that are late due to Covid-19. Since we don’t know when school will be back in session AT the school building, we understand the kids may still be using the books at home. We DO still need the materials to come back eventually so that’s why we are asking for your help to keep these books and DVDS safe until they come back to the library. You may also always drop your books off at the book drop outside the school, too.Lastly, let us know if you need MORE books for your child to read – maybe you can return some and get some at the same time utilizing our curbside service. You are heroes in this covid-19 story and we appreciate you, parents and families! Thank you for all that you do.
Due to the uncertainty of these crazy days of coronavirus, we have been updating due dates to renew your children’s books for all Meeteetse School students. We are happy to renew your books as parents and citizens of Meeteetse, as well. Please let us know if you need something renewed and we will update it for you!
I do want to reassure you that we will not be charging fines for late items due to covid-19. BUT… you are still very welcome to return books in the book drop outside the building at any time. We retrieve the books each morning, sanitize them, and then place them into a “quarantine” for a few days to allow any germs or anything else to die off before they are reintroduced into circulation .
We are still available Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 4 PM for curbside service. Just call ahead, message us on Facebook, comment here, or email us and we will be happy to get your books ready for you. They will be placed into a bag with your name on it and set outside the library door for you to pick up at your chosen designated time.
