On Thursday, Nov. 29 join us for a tour of the British Isles! The Meeteetse History Club spent 11 days touring Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England this past spring. They will be at the Meeteetse Branch Library from 4:30-6:00 to share pictures and stories of their trip.
It was fun to have Craig Johnson back in Meeteetse! Everyone appreciated hearing of his escapades in Mexico while researching his latest book, getting an early version of this year’s Christmas story and the opportunity to ask questions – especially about the Longmire TV series. Craig never seems to run out of stories to share! And it’s always fun to host Craig at the Meeteetse Chocolatier so there’s wine and chocolate to savor along with the stories.
In May of 2006 Meeteetse librarian, Diane Chapman, extended an invitation to a new Wyoming author to come to Meeteetse and talk about his books. Craig Johnson said it was the first time anyone had asked him to come and speak and he wasn’t sure what to ask for an honorarium. They settled on a 6-pack of Rainier beer! What a deal!
On Sunday, Nov. 18 Craig Johnson will return to Meeteetse for an author talk. He will be at the Meeteetse Chocolatier at 1:30 pm. Tim Kellogg, Meeteetse’s Chocolatier, will have some delectable chocolates for sale to savor while listening to Johnson’s tales.
The event is hosted by the Meeteetse Friends of the Library.
Meeteetse Friends of the Library have installed a new Free Little Library in Meeteetse. Located at the Meeteetse Visitor Center it is stocked with books and magazines for readers of all ages. All residents and travelers are invited to stop and pick up a book to read. It’s open 24 hours a day and the books are never overdue!
So … it seems turning an old book into a Music Box takes far longer than we had anticipated! We spent our July program cutting up the books and carving out niches. On August 16 (2:00-6:00) Lili Turnell will be in the Meeteetse Library again and this time we can decorate and embellish our Music Boxes. This will be the fun, creative work. Everyone is invited to join us. If you were here last time – finish cutting your book and bring it along. If you couldn’t make it last time come and see us at the library now and we’ll give you the materials to get started and ready for the August session.
