Pi Day Pie Auctions

Apple pie, blueberry pie, banana cream, oh my! Pie connoisseurs and library lovers will be excited about the Pi Day Pie Auctions at the Powell and Cody Libraries on Tuesday, March 14th. March 14th is known as Pi Day because it’s date (3/14) closely matches that mathematical constant π 3.14, also known as pi.

The Pie Auctions will help raise funds for the Powell Library Expansion Project. Bidding for pies, at each location, will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will stay open until 5:00 p.m. The highest bidders will be notified between 5:00-6:00 p.m. that same day. Winners are asked to pick up their pies by closing time on March 15th.

Would you be interested in donating a pie for the auctions? Please drop off your donation before 12:30 p.m. on March 14th at any of the Park County Libraries. We ask that you list what kind of pie you are donating and who baked it. Pie makers will also get a chance to win a prize for the most literary-themed pie.

The Meeteetse Library will be running Pi Day a bit differently. They plan to serve pie and a cup of coffee to patrons on March 14th and set up a donation bin for those who want to donate to the Powell Library Expansion Project.

Attention Patrons: The Powell Library will be closed April 23-May 5, 2024 while we move into our temporary location in the Homesteader Building at the Park County Fairgrounds. All Park County Library System patrons can continue to place holds/request items, but please understand your hold may be delayed due to the closure. We look forward to seeing you at the fairgrounds in May.
