Seth Johnson and Chris Beyeler will provide a practical introduction to Linux; a free, open-source computer operating system. 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 27.
To sign up drop by, call (307) 527-1880 or email [email protected]. Class will be limited to six.
Attendees should bring an older functioning laptop with at least 1GB of RAM (2GB is better) for Linux installation. Backup any important data on this laptop as it will be erased and reset as part of the installation process.
This is not required; participants will have access to a computer for the duration of the class.
At the end of this tutorial, people will leave with a basic understanding of a desktop Linux environment and have the resources to explore further on their own. For participants who brought a laptop, the old machine will be transformed into something fast, fun and functional again.
