Library cards are FREE to anyone who lives in Park County. Just bring proof of residence to your library, fill out a form, and you’re ready to go. More details on library cards are here.
How long can I keep the stuff I checked out from the library?
Books, music CDs, and children’s magazines–2 weeks
Magazines, instructional videos, vertical file materials–1 week
Movies (DVD & VHS)–3 days
Books checked out on a teacher card–6 weeks
Why won’t the catalog let me renew my books online?
If your books are overdue, you can’t renew them yourself, although we can do it for you. It is also possible that your library card has expired. Please give us a call or stop by and we will check the status of your card.
Is there internet access in the library?
Yes! All three libraries have internet computers. The Cody and Meeteetse libraries also have wireless internet access, and the Powell library will soon. You may call ahead to reserve computer time. There are more people who want to use computers than there are computers, so you get one hour per day. The Cody library also has two first-come, first-serve e-mail computers which may be used for 15 minutes. You can read our internet use policy for more details.

Probably. If you’re looking for a book on a particular topic, try searching the online catalog If you are doing research for a school project, you might try some of our online resources. We have encyclopedias, databases of magazine and newspaper articles, and many other resources. You can also learn about your genealogy, find out how to fix your car, find a sample legal form, or take practice tests (GED, ACT, firefighter, cosmetology, and more). If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please come to the library or give us a call or e-mail.
How do I search the library catalog?
You can search the WYLDCAT catalog from the search box in the sidebar that says “Search for Books, Movies, CDs, and more,” or you can go directly to the catalog page. You can search by author or title. If you’re not sure of the author or title, try a keyword search. If you’re searching for something and get way too many results, try choosing either the “Browse” or “Exact” button.
How do I find out if my library has a book or movie or CD?

How do I request a book, movie, CD, etc.?
To request a book that your library (or some other library in the state) owns, find the item in the catalog, click on the “Request” button, enter your library card number and PIN (which is probably wyld, unless you changed it), and click “Place Request.” If the book is from outside of Park County, you’ll also get a screen asking how much you’re willing to pay. The standard charge is $2. We have more detailed directions on placing holds available. You can also call or stop by the library. If you want something not owned by any libraries in Wyoming, stop by or give us a call and we will try to get it for you from out of state.
