The Cody library offers a wide variety of services for children and teenagers, including books, story times, summer reading, Internet access, and other programs.
Preschool Story Times at the Cody Library Geared especially for ages 3-6, Story Times last about 45 minutes. They include stories, fingerplays, songs, and crafts to promote early literacy and help develop a love of reading! This school year’s sessions end May 29.
- Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.–all ages welcome
- Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.–especially for daycares
- Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.–all ages welcome
Toddler Time
Monday mornings from 10-10:30, especially for children ages 12-36 months and their parent or caregiver. Books, rhymes, movement, music and more to help develop early literacy skills! Last session of the school year is May 19.
Homeschoolers’ Hour
Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. - all children who are homeschooled are invited to come for both read-aloud classics and age-appropriate library skills. Last session of the school year will be May 21.
Summer Reading: Catch the Reading Bug! Learn about butterflies, beetles and hissing cockroaches; join us for weekly Spanish & English Story Times; don’t miss the hilarious evening show with “The Noise Guy” Charlie Williams - and meet the Berenstain Bears! Read great books, do fun activities, learn more about the library - and earn tickets that could win you a great prize. This year’s program begins June 2nd and ends with the prize picnic at the new library on August 1st. Be sure to include the library in your summer plans! (Specific information will be available in mid-May at the library and through the Cody schools.)
Sleepy Time Stories
Monday, June 16th, from 6:30 to 7:30, we’ll have a special Story Time with Mr. John Cowger! Everyone is invited! Refreshments served and a good time guaranteed.
Book Signing!
New Cody author Myrna Henderson will appear at the Cody Library Thursday evening, May 15 at 6:30. Hear her new book The Twin Lands and learn the story of how it came about. Appropriate for ages 3 and up, copies of her new book will be available to purchase for $9.99. Refreshments will be served. There will also be a special Book Sale that evening by the Friends of the Cody Library.
