Literary Pumpkin Week at the Powell Branch Library will begin Wednesday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m. and continue until Tuesday, October 31st at 5:30 p.m. Bring in a pumpkin or gourd decorated to represent a favorite title or author and receive a treat for participating! The library will dispose of all pumpkins left after the 31st. All ages are welcome!
The Ann Simpson Artmobile has arrived in Cody. “Surrealism: Visions of the Mind” will be open to the public from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16 & 9 a.m. until noon on Friday, July 17.
Educator Erika Ramsey will direct art related activities. Sign up at the Library for these Thursday classes:
“Exquisite Corpse,” 10-11 a.m. for kids in grades K-2.
“The Subconscious Poet” for grades 7-9, noon- 2 p.m.
“Inner World” for grades 3-5, 3-5 p.m.
“Warped” for grades 10-12 and adults, 6-8 p.m.
The Super Ann Show with Ann Lincoln, juggler, magician and comedienne will be in:
- Powell – 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17.
- Meeteetse – 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18.
Ann’s show features contemporary stand-up comedy, juggling, magical animals and may involve audience members. She can even escape from a straitjacket. This family-friendly summer reading production is FREE & FUNNY!

Powell Library will be gearing up for the 4th Annual Edible Book Contest and Silent Auction by hosting an afternoon of free cake decorating for children of all ages! On Wednesday, April 1st from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. children will be given a free cake and decorations in order to make their entry for the contest and auction the next day. There are only 30 slots available, so hurry to sign up! Parents are encouraged to purchase their child’s entry the day of the workshop for a $5.00 donation to the Park County Library Foundation. Magic comes to the Powell Branch Library, Wednesday, July 9, with a workshop at 11:30 a.m. for ages 10 and older. He will present a family magic show at 2:00 p.m. Sign-up is required for the workshop.
The amazing Cody Landstrom will appear at the Meeteetse Branch Library, Thursday, July 10. He will perform magic at 10:00 a.m., followed by a workshop at 11:00 a.m., for ages 10 and older. Sign-up is required for the workshop.
Next, he will magically appear at the Cody Library, with a workshop at 4:00 p.m.Thursday, July 10 for ages 10 and older, and a magic show at 6:30 p.m. for the whole family. Both events will be held in Grizzly Hall. Sign-up is required for the workshop and may be done in the Children’s Department.
