The Powell Library will be offering two book discussions at two different times from January-April. The afternoon discussion from 2-3p.m. on the third Tuesdays of the month will explore different countries and families.
The evening discussion from 6-7:30p.m. on the second Thursday of the month will be talking about “Journey Stories.” This is a series of books that the Wyoming Humanties Council has loaned Powell for their discussion. Books are available now.
Join Big Horn Basin author Karen Schutte, 2-3 p.m. TODAY Monday, Aug. 11. Her new book is out! Flesh on the Bone continues the saga of German immigration to the Basin begun in The Ticket and Seed of the Volga. Karen’s trilogy is based on the lives of her great-grandparents and grandparents.
In her third novel, Jake and Raisa, first-born children of their immigrant parents are married in 1920 and by 1925 find themselves with two children of their own and a pile of growing debt. Things are better during the Roaring Twenties, but not in Lovell, Wyoming.
