Tuesday, December 5th we will be holding free one-on-one technology time from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Local computer companies will be taking turns each month to provide our patrons with tech help. Literary Pumpkin Week at the Powell Branch Library will begin Wednesday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m. and continue until Tuesday, October 31st at 5:30 p.m. Bring in a pumpkin or gourd decorated to represent a favorite title or author and receive a treat for participating! The library will dispose of all pumpkins left after the 31st. All ages are welcome!
Amy McKinney, a Northwest College Associate Professor of History, will present an evening of information about an amazing woman who broke the poultry world’s glass ceiling in 1922. Harriette E. Cushman worked for thirty-three years in the poultry extension field. McKinney will be speaking about Ms. Cushman’s ability to work in a male-dominated field in the early 20th century. Join us for this free program on Thursday, September 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Powell Branch Library.
The Powell Branch Library will host an Eclipse Party beginning at 11:00 a.m. inside and outside of the library on Monday, August 21,2017. We will be live streaming the NASA feed in the meeting room, and we will have seating available outside. Note: the library does not have eclipse glasses available, so make sure to bring your own.
