Dennis Spargur, Building Manager for Park County, cuts the cake provided by library employees in celebration of his retirement. Dennis won’t be taking it easy right away, however. He plans to work for Xanterra in Yellowstone National Park in the maintenance department at Old Faithful. We have appreciated Dennis and his helpfulness in keeping things running smoothly in the Park County Complex. Good luck on your new adventure!
Powell Library will host The 4th Annual Edible Books Contest and Silent Auction on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 9:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. Entries can be anything edible that is “bookish.” You can demonstrate a pun, a title, a book, or a character. Examples can be found here: Edible Book Ideas . Participants may drop off their entries through 4:00 p.m. The silent auction will end at 6:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in three age categories – Adults (18+), Young Adults (12-17), Children (up to 11). Awards will be given for People’s Choice, Most Artistic, Most “Punnish”, and Most “Look-Alike.” Proceeds will go to the Park County Library Foundation. If you have any questions call 754-8828.
Powell Library will be gearing up for the 4th Annual Edible Book Contest and Silent Auction by hosting an afternoon of free cake decorating for children of all ages! On Wednesday, April 1st from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. children will be given a free cake and decorations in order to make their entry for the contest and auction the next day. There are only 30 slots available, so hurry to sign up! Parents are encouraged to purchase their child’s entry the day of the workshop for a $5.00 donation to the Park County Library Foundation.
