Looking for health information?

Thanks to a partnership between West Park Hospital and Park County Library System, there is a great place to begin your medical and health research. It’s the Planetree Health Resource Center located behind the Reference Desk in the Coe Reading Room which also houses the Locked Case Collection in the Park County Library in Cody.

It has its own classification system

It’s different from the rest of the library. It employs two-letter designations for many health categories. The shelves are marked with the ranges of categories.

Searching for Planetree Resources in the Catalog

When you use WYLDcat, which is the online catalog, you can search by call number. From the library’s Home page, type in a term in the WYLDcat box where it says Enter Your Search. After you enter the catalog, choose the Advanced Search option, then the Call Number Browse, located to the right. Each of the call numbers in the Planetree Health Resource Center have PLANETREE in them, so you can just type PLANETREE in the Call Number Browse box to go through the whole collection.
OR, using a specific category from the PDF chart, type in PLANETREE plus the two-letter designation in the call number browse.  For example, if you are looking for cancer resources in the Planetree area, type in PLANETREE FE in the call number browse.
OR, try the Two-Letter link ranges below to shorten your browse. (When you are in the catalog, just click on “Next” at the top or bottom of the catalog page to continue browsing.)

Don’t forget the computers!

There are three computers and two printers in the Planetree area. You may use these for medical and health related research. Please reserve a computer at the front desk.
