As a fifth generation westerner, Mike Eastman grew up exploring the back-country of Wyoming with his father legendary wildlife photographer Gordon Eastman. This upbringing instilled within Mike an unmatched understanding and appreciation for the wilderness and western big game. At the age of 14, with his first still camera in hand, he set out on a devoted lifestyle that would span decades and reach thousands, allowing others to see the world of wildlife through his eyes.
In addition, in 1987 he founded the nationally acclaimed hunting magazine, Eastmans’ Hunting Journal (EHJ) and followed it in 2000 with Eastmans’ Bowhunting Journal (EBJ). Grounded in the ethics of fair chase, it has to date a readership well over 400,000. Then with many decades of outdoor knowledge, wilderness hunting and guiding experiences he penned four outdoor books. Having each title selling over 36,000 copies, making Mike a bestselling outdoor author. This extensive outdoor experience with decades of photography has molded his unique photo style.
