Join Big Horn Basin author Karen Schutte, 2-3 p.m. TODAY Monday, Aug. 11. Her new book is out! Flesh on the Bone continues the saga of German immigration to the Basin begun in The Ticket and Seed of the Volga. Karen’s trilogy is based on the lives of her great-grandparents and grandparents.
In her third novel, Jake and Raisa, first-born children of their immigrant parents are married in 1920 and by 1925 find themselves with two children of their own and a pile of growing debt. Things are better during the Roaring Twenties, but not in Lovell, Wyoming.
