In Search of an Author
Feb 26th, 2008 by laura
In January 2008, Park County library patrons searched the catalog for over 1000 authors. Here’s a visual version of the top 100 author searches in January:
Sadly, not all of these searches produce results. If you’re having trouble finding something in the catalog, here are a few tips:
- Make sure you have spelled the name of the author or work correctly. (If you’re not sure how to spell it, try searching for it in Amazon.com or Google, which will often suggest alternate spellings.)
- Use “author” and “title” only if you know the author or title you are looking for.
- If you’re not sure of an author or title, or know only that you want to find books on a particular subject, use the “keywords” search. (The “subject” search looks only for official Library of Congress Subject headings, which can be a little obscure.)
If you’re ever unsure of how to do a search, please ask a librarian. We love to search, and we’re here to help!
