Tuesday, January 15, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Cody Library — Wyoming children’s book author, Gene Gagliano, will present a program. He wrote C is for Cowboy and Four Wheels West. His interactive performance is perfect for children of elementary school age.
Saturday, January 19, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Fitness Center, 13th and Sheridan, Cody — Black Lion American Kenpo Karate will lead women’s self-defense classes as a “Greening of the Library” event. Learn how to protect yourself from assault. Cost is $10. Teens should be accompanied by an adult. Saturday, January 19, 2 p.m., Meeteetse Library — Barbara Graham will read from her new book, Murder by Serpents and sign copies. She will be at the Cody Library, Tuesday, January 22 at 7 p.m. for a similar program.
Saturday, January 26, 10 a.m., Children’s Department, Cody Library — Carol Austin will present a program on the Nez Perce Trail. She will do an adult program at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Powell Branch Library is sponsoring a book discussion series, Distant Neighbors: Twentieth-Century Mexican Literature. Books are provided free of charge by the Wyoming Humanities Council. Jennifer Sheridan, NWC literature teacher, will lead the discussions to be held on the fourth Mondays in Powell Branch Library meeting room, starting January 28. Visit the library or call 754-8828.
